"The Lucky Dog was perfect for our
group and centrally located to many fishing opportunities. I fished the
Gallatin, the Madison inside the park, Slough Creek in the park, the Boulder
River south of Big Timber, the Yellowstone, the lower Madison and the
Jefferson during the week. We also had a group fish the Missouri. All of
these waters were within an hour and a half or so from the Lucky Dog. The
kitchen and dining facilities work great for larger groups as well."

Comments or Suggestions: We had an
amazing time. It was the first time we had been able to get everyone in one
place at the same time, as the entire family is from all over the US and
Canada. My parents said it was the highlight of their 50 years of marriage. My
nephews and nieces enjoyed walking out the back door to fish and float. I
enjoyed how close it was to everything so if anything was needed we could just
go to town a minute and pick it up. The lodge is a beautiful building and you
can see the love and passion the builder had to make it a peaceful,
comfortable place to stay. It is definitely worth any price because there is a
togetherness not found at a hotel.

Greetings once again from Kalispell!
Just wanted you to know that we had an awesome weekend at
the Lucky Dog Lodge! It was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend - it
was the greatest family gathering that we have enjoyed. The lodge is
beautiful - it was very clean and had all the things we needed, plus some!
Our families from Minnesota were very impressed - and we hope to come back
again sometime. Thanks Paul for your help - the Lucky Dog Lodge is truly a
hidden gem! We are recommending it to all we know that travel to the Bozeman
area! Have an awesome summer!

Good Morning Paul:
This is somewhat "belated"... but we want to "thank-you" for the great
accommodations of the Lucky Dog- all 15 of us...thought it was great..and
would love to come back again...the guys enjoyed the Gallatin River, and
were able to try their hand at flying fishing, and then went to the old
standard fishing, and were able to catch enough
for a "fish-fry"-. Some of them used the Hot Springs, and enjoyed being
close to that,
and of course being close to Bozeman downtown, all of the "girls" took
advantage of the shopping, etc...
We made the trip to Big Sky and Yellowstone Park... and also the area
around
Manhattan where I grew up etc, and it was a "nostalgic" trip for me in
many ways.
If and when we make that trip again, we would come to the Lucky Dog, it is
certainly a great place for many people of all ages..
It was nice to meet Mike Copeland, please greet him for us...
|Again, thanks for all of your help in making this trip one of Memories..
Take care and have a great summer.

I would
highly recommend this place to any one wanting to take a family
group or business group to the Bozeman, Big Sky area. It is a great
location for fishing in the summer or for access to skiing in the
winter. It is brand new, and compared to the other area lodging
costs, it is priced very attractively.

Some
friends and I came up in early January for an outing filled with
skiing and good times. The cabin was way better than the pictures
show. If anyone is thinking about taking a trip to Montana or the
Bozeman area, the Lucky Dog Lodge is the place to stay. Everything
was awesome about it. The pricing was also exceptional. Hope you can
have a good time there like I did!
Thanks to
Paul and Mike at the Lucky Dog Lodge, me and my friends had the best
time of our lives! The location is perfect and the house is
spectacular. What a bargain! The owner and renter kept in good
contact and were very responsive with everything. They also provided
us with great accommodations, amenities, and services. Highly
recommended.
We enjoyed
our time at the Lodge very much, as Australians wanting to see and
experience America the Lucky Dog Lodge was a perfect choice. A real
log cabin although not really a cabin but a mansion the lodge is
very comfortable as well as providing a unique ambiance. We
understand that the lodge was completed as tribute to a local
adventurer/guide who had dedicated his life to unlocking the beauty
of Montana to visitors from both home and abroad. We would like to
thank those whose hard work made the lodge a reality as it truly
does allow visitors to enjoy a unique part of America.
Just
returned from a week at the Lucky Dog... what a great place! Huge,
tons of amenities, gorgeous river view- and Bozeman was great!
Thanks, Mike!

Every few
years we attempt a family vacation, this one was one of the best. We
all met in Bozeman and 14 of us spent a great week at the lodge.
What a peaceful place to stay. The guys were out on the river first
light every morning and again till last light every evening. We were
not tripping over one another or lining up for the bathrooms. The
kitchen was well stocked and we love to cook! This was the perfect
place to get away, relax and reconnect. We have always loved Bozeman
and now have a place to gather together. Thanks Mike and Sue,
Steve's spirit is truly alive and well in Lucky Dog Lodge!
Just want
to say how much our group loved the Lucky Dog. The lodge is
everything that's advertised and more! Mike and his wife were
incredible hosts and totally made us feel at home. Thanks so much
for your flexibility and hospitality!

Can't
possibly say enough about the Lucky Dog! Loved every minute of
staying there - the history of the home, the beautiful logs, the
open area, and most especially the hot tub. Perfect for a big group
- plenty of both privacy and communal space. Thanks Mike!!!
We loved
your lodge! It was very cozy and charming and fit the needs of our
large family- visiting for my cousins wedding. Couldn't have asked
for a better place to stay! We had a blast skiing, hot-tubbing, and
enjoying the mountainous landscape. Thanks for everything!

The lucky
dog lodge was absolutely amazing. I brought 7 of my friends to
celebrate new years at the lodge, and it couldn't have worked out
any better. First, the lodge itself included everything you'd have
at home so the only thing we needed to bring was our clothes and
some food. The kitchen was completely stocked with utensils so
cooking was easy, although we mainly used the grill outside. The hot
tub and sauna both worked out great too! There is so much room
inside the lodge we didn't know what to do with it all. When we
weren't at the lodge, it's location made it easy to either cruise
into Bozeman (10 mins) or get in a quick afternoon of skiing at Big
Sky (30 mins). Finally, I'd like to add that the hospitality was
outstanding. If we needed anything at all, Paul (the owner) was
there to help.
Overall, the experience was incredible and I'd recommend it to
anyone.
We rented
Lucky Dog Lodge for a family reunion during the week of July 4th,
and it turned out to be the best ever. The kids had a ball trying
their hand at fishing, skipping stones or taking a (quick) dip in
the Gallatin River out back. There was good horseback riding just
down the road and lots of great hiking within an easy drive.
Yellowstone National Park is just two hours away, and there is lots
to do in Bozeman itself. The lodge itself is extraordinary --
tastefully decorated, spacious bedrooms, good bath facilities, the
large and comfortable common room on the first floor, and a kitchen
stocked with first-rate equipment. A good deal of time was spent
just hanging out on the back porch or around the huge plank dining
table inside. Our group would recommend Lucky Dog Lodge to anybody.
It's an unbelievable value.
Lucky Dog
Lodge is everything as advertised on the website and more. Clean,
comfortable, and well supplied with household items. Very adequate
for our group consisting of adults and children and numbering 12+.
Paul House was also excellent to work with. Any questions were
answered quickly and accurately.
We drove
from Chicago, and spent a summer week at the lodge with friends.
There were 12 of us in all (6 kids, 6 adults). Another 6 or more
people could EASILY have fit in. We all agreed that we'd love to
have been able to transport the whole lodge (or at very least, the
hand-made table) back here - it is so beautiful. We liked the
location - it was easy to get to White Water rafting, Yellowstone,
Horse Riding, and the multiple hiking trails. And the kids loved
swimming in the creek just behind the lodge. It's also great that
Mike et al sort through the groceries that each group of visitors
leave, keeping edibles and non-perishables for the next group. We
didn't have to buy any basic groceries (nor did we have to spend
money on many non-basics). If you get there at the right (or,
rather, ripe) time of year, you can also pick veggies from the patch
at the back of the house. All in all, the lodge is the perfect place
to stay for a fantastic vacation. We would (and do) recommend it to
everyone.
Lucky Dog Lodge was perfect for
our family gathering to celebrate 50 years of our parents
marriage. We were able to travel to historic and scenic sites
during the day and return to the warmth of the lodge at evening.
Each family takes a night to cook and kitchen is so well
equipped for whatever is decided upon. The fishing and swimming
in the Gallatin out back was fun. The deck (decks) and that
incredible table were so great for conversation. The lodge is
quite spacious and there was always an available bathroom! The
lodge is also well equipped with information on all kinds of
activities in the surrounding areas. We used the book, "Hikes
around Bozeman" daily and found some great waterfalls. From the
initial inquiry of renting through the process of checking in,
Paul was wonderful to work with. We really enjoyed meeting and
visiting with Peter, the neighbor, and we so enjoyed Mike and
Sue's visits. The LDL is quite a tribute to their son. I know I
speak for the group when I say the LDL was our best family
gathering yet in a rental and we would highly recommend it.
Thanks Lucky Dog Lodge!
"We
thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Lucky Dog Lodge. The lodge's construction was
so inspiring-- four of our group are presently constructing or renovating homes,
so just the lodge itself was exciting. The layout of the rooms provided lots of
together time as well as privacy, which was perfect for our group of 16. It was
so nice to have all those bathrooms! We loved cooking together -- we had formed
cooking groups of three or four, and it was so fun to have great amenities like
good knives and pans and serving dishes to use while preparing food for the
whole group. The dining room table was such a comfortable centerpiece, we sat
around it for hours and hours each evening. The windows were all easy to open
and close, which was wonderful so as to appreciate the evening breeze. And the
hot tub got a lot of use! The location put us close to what was of interest to
everyone -- hiking, golf, fishing, town, and even the yard proved a safe and
private place for the small kids to play without worry of traffic. Best of all
was the great service that Paul provided to our group. From email reservations
to answering any and all questions quickly, to on-site assistance, he was so
available and agreeable. And it was so nice to meet Mike Copeland. The house has
a great legacy and we were so pleased to experience it."
